How to Collaborate on a Song in ShiMuv

Invite collaborators to your DAW session, share recordings in real-time and manage contributor roles.

February 20, 2026

ShiMuv lets you invite other creators to your DAW sessions for real-time collaboration. You can record, edit and mix together from anywhere in the world.

Step 1: Open Your Session

Go to the Studio and open an existing song or create a new one.

Step 2: Open the Collaboration Panel

Click the Collaborate button (people icon) in the top toolbar. This opens the collaboration panel showing the current session participants.

Step 3: Invite Collaborators

Click Invite and enter a ShiMuv username or email address. The collaborator receives a notification and can join the session immediately.

Step 4: Set Permissions

Choose whether each collaborator can Edit (full access to record, mix and arrange) or View (listen and comment only). You can change permissions at any time.

Step 5: Work Together

Both users see the same timeline. When one person records or makes an edit, it appears for the other in real-time. Use the built-in chat or work in turns by soloing and muting tracks.

Recording Is Just the Beginning

This tutorial covered recording — but ShiMuv takes you from raw vocals to a finished, published release. After recording, mix your track with built-in effects, master it with AI, create a music video or lipsync clip, and publish to the community where listeners discover your music through genre radio stations. The entire journey happens in one platform.

Everything You Need in One Platform

ShiMuv is not a tutorial site or a collection of tools. It is a complete music creation platform where independent artists write, produce, record, mix, master, create videos for, and publish their music — all from a single browser tab. Here is what is available to you:

These tutorials are designed to be applied immediately. Open ShiMuv Studio and follow along, or use the AI tools to generate starting material. Every feature works together so you can go from learning to releasing without switching platforms.
