How to Create a Music Video in Edit Hub

Step-by-step guide to ShiMuv's Edit Hub video editor — import clips, add captions, apply effects, overlay audio and export your finished music video.

March 8, 2026

ShiMuv's Edit Hub is a browser-based video editor with multi-track timelines, captions, effects, transitions and audio mixing. This tutorial walks you through creating a complete music video.

Step 1: Create a New Project

Navigate to /edit-hub and click New Project. Give it a title and select a resolution (1080p recommended for social media, 4K for YouTube).

Step 2: Import Video Clips and Images

Click Upload in the media panel to add video files or images from your computer. You can also click Library to import content you've already uploaded to ShiMuv — including AI-generated images and lipsync videos.

Step 3: Add Your Music

Drag your song from the media panel onto an audio track in the timeline. You can import recordings from the DAW, AI-generated instrumentals, or upload an external file. The audio waveform displays on the timeline for easy visual alignment.

Step 4: Arrange Clips on the Timeline

Drag video clips and images onto the video tracks. Use the trim handles to adjust start and end points. Drag clips left/right to reposition them. Use Split at Playhead (press S) to cut a clip into two pieces.

The timeline supports multiple video tracks, so you can layer clips, images and text overlays. Higher tracks appear on top in the preview.

Step 5: Add Captions and Effects

Click Captions to add text overlays. Type your lyrics or title cards, set timing and choose a font style. For effects, select a clip and choose from fade, slide, zoom, rotate, bounce, shake, flash and cinematic presets.

Transitions between clips (crossfade, wipe, etc.) can be added by overlapping two clips slightly on the timeline.

Step 6: Export

Click Export in the top toolbar. Choose your output format and quality. The server renders your video with all layers, effects and audio merged. Once complete, download the file or publish it directly to the community feed.
