How to Separate Stems in ShiMuv
There are two ways to split stems. Choose whichever fits your workflow.
Path ALibrary → Track Editor (Recommended)
Go to your Library and click Edit on any track
Open your Library where all your AI-generated music, uploaded songs, and recordings live. Find the track you want to split and click the Edit button. This opens the Track Editor.

Scroll to Stem Separation and choose 4 or 6 stems
In the Track Editor, scroll down to the Stem Separation section. Select your mode — 4 Stems (vocals, drums, bass, other) for 12 credits, or 6 Stems (adds guitar and piano) for 20 credits. Then click Separate Stems.

Wait for processing, then download or preview your stems
AI processing typically takes 30–90 seconds. When complete, each stem appears with its own play and download button. Preview any stem individually, download them as audio files, or continue to the DAW to remix.

Open in DAW to remix, record, or add effects
In the DAW, click Import → Stems tab. Your separated stems appear automatically. Click + Add All Stems to load them onto individual tracks, or add stems one at a time. Solo, mute, add effects, record over them, or replace stems with AI-generated content.

Path BDAW → Stems Panel (for uploaded files)
If you want to split an audio file you haven't uploaded to your Library yet, go directly to the DAW at /song/new. Click Import → Upload File to add your audio, then click the Stems button in the top-right toolbar. Select your recording in the Stems panel, choose 2-stem or 4-stem mode, and click Separate.

Create Cover Songs
Extract the instrumental stems, record your own vocals over them, and publish the cover to your channel.
Build Remixes
Keep the vocal but replace the drums, bass, or other instruments with AI-generated alternatives.
Lipsync Videos
Use the isolated vocal for cleaner AI lipsync — instruments do not confuse the lip detection.
Music Videos
Import stems into the video editor. Sync visual effects to the drum stem or build layered experiences.
Voice Conversion
Extract a vocal, then run it through Voice Lab to convert the singing style or create a choir.
Study Pro Mixes
Solo individual stems to hear how professional tracks are mixed. Learn vocal processing and drum patterns.
